This girl is GOOD!

I just got all the photos from the shoot we did a couple of weeks ago, and I must say I'm completely floored. Camille is amazing. I'm totally in love.

These photos make me want to redesign my entire website. I already replaced the home page photo with one from this shoot, but really...I almost want to redo the whole thing. She really captured the parlour vibe.

Haha, here is one of me that is ....well, to be honest, borderline ridiculous! It was kind of a joke to wear fur, it was hard to not crack up laughing. Ha! One of my friends told me I should commission someone to paint this in that retro, lady-of-the-house portrait style. Ha. No way.

Not your mama's wedding

This is from a photo shoot I did a couple of weeks ago (you can click to make it bigger). The girl on the left is my superbly talented friend Camille who does a lot of wedding photography. That girl knows her stuff, man. She did all the makeup, lights, props, and set up the frames for this shoot and had her assistant push the shutter. Anyway, she got a little fluffy press release written and we're pitching it to all the publications around here. Something about young, hip, wedding vendors taking over Nashville. I guess that's us?

It's rainy and all I want to do is crawl back into bed and watch movies. And I don't even like movies, really. But I'm going to. Nite nite.

The reason I've been so busy, and why I need your help...

K, so here's the thing. The THING is, is that I've had a lot to do lately, buisness-wise. Health department permit, Tennessee business license, contracts, website...etc. etc. etc. Which brings me to one of the total perks of having a blog and blogging friends. Before I post my website to my domain name, would you be so kind as to preview it for me and give me your ever-appreciated opinions? Be ruthless! Be critical! Be MEAN! Okay, don't be mean. One more thing: The "Featured Wedding" page is really bad right now. I can't figure out how to arrange all the texts and pics, plus I'm waiting on a couple more pics so I'll figure that one out tomorrow.

Greetings, friends! So much is changing right now in my life. In the midst of moving between states, trying to sell our condo, finding a place to live, adjusting to the stress of new jobs and somehow avoiding not going too far into debt, I have also decided to rename my business and launch a new blog! I have actually wanted to get rid of Tarta Cakes ever since I first chose it (a dear friend pointed out what it sounded like on the answering machine....yikes!) but have been afraid to reveal the real name until I bought all the domain names. I'm actually scared someone might steal my concept...isn't that silly? As if I have any ideas worth stealing. Anyway, the name originated in anticipation of what I want the concept to evolve into (I know, preposition at the end of my sentence, sorry!) when I eventually own a shop. It may be a funny name for a home/rented-kitchen based business, but, hey...we're foward thinkers. Or something.

And, P.S. TypePad is just plain difficult to figure out compared to Blogger!
